History worth keeping close.
Cletus Vane Gallery brings historic book illustrations into a new setting, with a story to accompany each piece.
Our first collection comes from a damaged original 1880 Bible. The pages that could be saved became the starting point: detailed images, old paper and accounts that invite a second look.
We photograph the actual leaves, keep their individual condition visible and connect every illustration to its context. Our aim is a piece you enjoy displaying and an archive you enjoy exploring.
A collection with room to grow.
The Bible collection is our first chapter. Other historic books, natural history, maps and photography may follow as the gallery develops.
